The Industrial Arts/Agriculture Building reopened in March of 2012 with the help of a $90,000 grant from Litchfield's Tax Increment Financial Authority (TIFA).
The new facility, the Richard E. Krohn Center for Excellence, offers classes for current employees of local industry and aspiring industry students, and is home to technical classes such as Welding I, II & III.
The Krohn Center has been in operation since 2012, and is the primary location of instruction in welding.
In 2014, The Litchfield Initiative approved the purchase of this 9,600 square foot building in the heart of the thriving Industrial Park.
The facility has undergone renovation to provide classrooms, flexible lab space and a conference room and is continuing to upgrade with a computer lab currently in the works. This building has quickly become a community asset, providing classroom and meeting space for private corporations and publicly available classes alike.
